Review for Forever Us by Melanie Shawn!

Well, I am having a bittersweet moment here. I have reached the end of the series but… I loved where Jace and Cat ended up!!!
The series took a twist in the last book and it was marvelous to see this wonderful couple trying to work through it together. I absolutely love how realistic these two felt to me. They aren’t perfect but that’s exactly what makes them perfect characters. They don’t act like they know everything, they have people in their lives that help them put things into perspective and they love it. I wish more people were like them. Also, I honestly kept forgetting that Cat’s only 18!! I swear she acts so mature for her age, it make me so proud! I will miss her and Jace so freaking much. I teared up from all the cuteness overload in this story. This might me my favorite one of the series because of a particular character that we met in the previous book. Its unbelievable how one character can add SO much to the plot line but, they did, and for that I will always look back to this story with a smile.
Although the horrible and atrocious women got what they deserved, justly, I still wasn’t happy with how it was handled. Anyway, I got over it because that ending was perfect! It was sweet, hilarious, and emotional. Cat and Jace manage to make me happier than I thought I would be for fictional characters. I can’t wait to read more by Melanie Shawn!

Review for I am Atlas by Ella Emerson

I won this book at a book event and the cover entranced me from the start. Sadly, I wasn’t as much of a fan of the story. I don’t know but I am not a fan of Ella’s writing. It felt… stiff and it was full of breaks that really weren’t necessary. It prevented the book from flowing. There were also grammatical errors which I wouldn’t pay attention to unless I can’t figure out what they’re trying to say. That’s what happened here, I had to skip some sentences because I couldn’t figure them out. It was stressful and painful to get through, at least for me. I didn’t connect to the characters at all and I found it predictable for the most part. I’m actually giving this a rating of 2.5 because the end definitely packed a twist I didn’t see coming. Unfortunately, I was too busy trying to get over this story that it was a ‘meh’ moment for me. I didn’t believe anything I read in this book and the characters didn’t have any depth to them. I didn’t believe the relationship between Atlas and Gwen. Their dialogue was superficial at best. All in all, I’m glad I gave this a try. I’m just not going to continue with the series.

Review for One Day His by Melanie Shawn!

Oh. My…
I fell in love with these two sister’s writing with the first book in this series, Someday Girl. That book was amazing and pulled at my heartstrings. And then I had the pleasure to meet them at my first book event where I purchased all three books!
This beautiful story is continued to be told by both Cat and Jace’s POV and that makes me such a happy person, you have no idea. Male POV’s are my life! Jace is perfection that I swoon every time he’s mentioned in this book… Anyway, these two are honestly one of the cutest and more perfect pairings I have seen. They bring out the best in each other and what’s even better, is that they’re still growing as a couple while growing as individuals. These two are so realistic that it’s ridiculous. I say ridiculous because I want to meet them so bad! I want to hug their pain away, cry with them, laugh with them, and everything in between. These two are making me so unbelievably proud that it’s breaking my heart that I am a step closer to finishing this series. Also, the steamy scenes are to die for!
Now for the characters I despise: Angelica and Natalya. Those two are one of the most disgusting vile women I have had the displeasure of meeting. Just when I think they can’t any worse, oh, they prove me so wrong. These two horrible creatures bring out the worst in me and I just hope they get what they deserve in the end or I will forever be displeased with a couple authors!
Also, this ended in a massive CLIFFHANGER! I didn’t expect the series to take the turn it did but I am so excited to see how it all plays out!! Seriously, I am glad I own the entire series because I would have been ripping my hair out wanting to know what happens next!

5/5 stars!

Review for The Last Boyfriend by Nora Roberts

Wow, okay.
So this is the first Nora Roberts book I have ever read and didn’t like at all.
It’s not really her fault it’s just the fact that I did NOT like the female love interest in this book, Avery. She was all over the place and when she started talking, it was like verbal diarrhea and it irritated me to no end. This also got in the way of when she was trying to communicate something ‘heart-breaking,’ I just didn’t feel it. She talked so much that it felt rushed and I couldn’t get a handle of an emotion before she continued with something else. I also kept seeing that whenever she described Owen, our male love interest, she focused mainly on looks and that just didn’t cut it for me. All in all, I couldn’t connect to any of the characters, especially her.
I did like Owen though. He definitely made my journey through this book a lot less rough. He’s hilarious and definitely isn’t a pushover. The relationship with him and Avery was just in the back burner for me. I wasn’t invested in it so whatever outcome they faced I would’ve been ‘eh’ about it.
This book was easy to read but pretty predictable. I do love how strong the family relationships are. It’s definitely something I wish I had with mine. Also, this book just made me want to open my own restaurant even more. UGH!
But no worries, I will continue onto the last book of the trilogy.

3/5 stars.

Review for Winger by Andrew Smith!

Warning: This is one of the most painful reviews I’ve had to write yet.. I’ve had to stop a couple times in order to force myself to stop crying. I’m sorry If I may seem monotonous. I just can’t stop the pain.

So, as everybody knows, the hype for this book was/is unbelievable. As soon as I saw this on the library’s bookshelf I knew I HAD to read it. It was fate… and I simply HATE fate now. I’ll tell you why in a bit.
I read this life-shattering book in one sitting and I wish I hadn’t. I wouldn’t have been destroyed so soon if I hadn’t. The art throughout the pages gave this already amazing book an extra push into the extraordinary zone. Our main character, Ryan Dean, was a memorable character to follow. And so were his supporting characters: Joey, Chas, Kevin, Seanie, JP…
P.S.: I am a hardcore shipper of Joey & Ryan. I know Ryan isn’t gay but AGH, I wanted those two together more than I wanted to breathe.
I loved every single guy mentioned in this story. Their personalities were unique and suited each character so perfectly.
Except for two guys.
Two stupid, annoying, horrible, disgusting, and atrocious human beings can go through a meat grinder (slowly) and I wouldn’t blink. I’m so sorry for the gruesome explanation but they deserve that and more for destroying the happiness I had in me.
This book was so amazing and hilarious that my stomach hurt throughout the entire thing. But, reaching the end… my stomach, and everything else, hurt with another form of pain. The devastating kind. I didn’t see that ending coming at all and that was my downfall. As soon as I read THAT page (if you’ve read this, you know which one) my heart stopped beating for a second, my world was suspended in thin air for a couple more, before it came crashing down on top of me and ripping away the laughter I experienced before it. I couldn’t get the book far enough away from me and I had to stop for a while in order to cry it out. My eyes hurt from crying myself to sleep but they’re still crying over it. I lost a huge part of me in order to find out what the hype was about and unfortunately, I won’t be able to get it back. This book is just.. unforgettable. I need to own a copy now just so I can touch it and be transported back to when things were amazing. When there wasn’t a massive black cloud around my heart due to Andrew Smith.
I know… I KNOW these characters are all fictional… but I still feel like a complete failure. I feel like I have failed MY very own best friend and there is nothing I can do to make it up.
Winger is ridiculous, in the best way, but it still tore my happiness away. I feel like I am a zombie as I write this. I have lost my will to smile for a while and the tears won’t stop coming. Thank you Andrew for destroying every piece of me without a warning.

All the stars/5 stars.
