Release Day: Uncovering Hope by Kacey Shea!

First and foremost, congratulations Kacey on your third release day!!  I have loved every single book Kacey has written and this one is no exception.

Carly Reynolds doesn’t have much faith in men. She no longer trusts her heart to lead—not after doing her so wrong. Raising her sons alone, Carly must learn to stand on her own. But she’s stronger now, wiser, and determined to move forward.

Derek Taylor, the sexy tatted drummer for Three Ugly Guys, doesn’t have much time for women, except to hook up and get off. He’d rather focus on writing music and living the career he’s always dreamed. Fate may have other plans.

Dr. Garrett Brooks is the talk of Children’s Hospital. As the new surgical resident, he is young, charming, and attractive. He takes an immediate interest in Carly but his demanding work schedule and her single mom status don’t leave much opportunity for dating.

Between love interests, two boys to raise, and a full time nursing job, Carly’s ability to stand strong is put to the test. And when strange things start to transpire Carly must face the reality that her past has come back to haunt. Can the woman she’s become dare to hope for love again? And which man will win her heart?

*This book is the third and final book in the series but you do NOT have to read books one and two to enjoy Uncovering Hope. It contains adult themes and explicit content and is intended for mature audiences only.*

My review:

*ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review*
This book follows Carly, a single mother (*cough*my sister-in law*cough*) and I couldn’t be happier about it. I have been dying to know more about her since she was introduced in the first book, Uncovering Love. She has a good head on her shoulders and she made me so proud on multiple occasions.
This book was not what I was expecting. And I meant that in the best of ways. I thought I was going to read an easy romance but nope, wrong! This story was so much more than that and I have learned that it’s Kacey’s stamp. She gives you more than you can ever expect. There was definitely some incredible steaminess but there was also some serious and crazy events I didn’t see coming.
I won’t go much into the male characters because of spoilers but here is the rundown: Josh is a prick and I wanted to punch him too many times to count. Derek made me smile like a lunatic and heat up with passion. He is perfect, but of course, will never be my Tate. I hated Dr. Garrett from the very beginning and it didn’t change whatsoever.
I just love how Kacey’s characters have such amazing and creative backstories to them that they can’t help but feel real. They are real people going through real problems and I am in awe because of it. She mixes the perfect amount of humor with severity in every situation and it makes the ride unforgettable. I was laughing so hard one minute, and gasping the next. Kacey has created such an amazing cast of characters with some of the biggest hearts I’ve ever stumbled upon and for that, I am deeply grateful for her.
I read this in one sitting which goes to show that Kacey’s books are perfect to pick up when you are trying to get over a slump. (Which I was, and I did.) It left me satisfied and pulled at my heart strings every step of the way. This was such a beautiful and emotional read, definitely an amazing and perfect way to end this wonderful series. Everything about this series will always be close to my heart and as sad as I am to let it go, I am happier to have gotten the chance to read it.

5/5 stars!

 About the author:

Kacey Shea is a mom of three, wife, and part-time bookkeeper who resides in sunny Arizona. She enjoys reading and writing romance novels as much as her son loves unicorns, which is a lot.

When she’s not writing you will find her playing taxi cab to her children while belting out her favorite tunes, meeting friends or family for food and to share some laughs, or sweating it out in the gym. Kacey finds that picking up heavy weights repeatedly is good for her mental health as much as it is for the physical.

She has an unhealthy obsession with firefighters. It could be the pants. It could be the fire. It’s just hot. On occasion she has been known to include them, without their knowledge, in her selfies outside the grocery store.
