My very first Q&A!

monday

I asked you guys to ask me some questions on social media and here is what you guys came up with:

>>Questions from my Instagram page<<

From Manon (@womanon):

Q:  Which book is your all time favorite?

A: My all time favorite book has to be The Exceptions by David Cristofano. I found a copy of this book at one of my local Dollar Tree stores and its cover intrigued me enough to demand I take it home with me. I didn’t know at the time just how much I would grow to love it but I can’t get into it all.  I’ll just drive myself into a life slump but you can find my review with my detailed thoughts for it [HERE].

From Sandra (@sandybellemichelle):

Q: What is the scariest book you’ve ever read?

A: This is a very good question. For an incredible horror fanatic, I rarely read that genre of books. I know, it’s unheard of, but it’s true. I tend to focus on romance and fantasy a lot more. But, there is definitely a book that has stuck with me even after having read it  a few years ago and that is House of Darkness, House of Light by Andrea Perron. I have yet to read the other books in the series but I honestly loved that book very much. It made me feel everything that I expect any horror novel to accomplish. No other horror book has come close to captivating me as this one did. After seeing its horrible reviews, it made me sad that I loved it so much but I learned early off to never apologize for liking a book when everybody else hates it. Sadly, I made the mistake to lend it to someone who I don’t speak to anymore. Which means, they never returned it and I’ll have to re-buy it although it went up in price a lot. So that is definitely what I am most sorry for where that book is concerned.

From Amanda (@allthistimealways):

Q: What do you do outside of bookstagram?

A: Unfortunately, I don’t live a glamorous life so when I’m not online (the best part of my day because it keeps me in contact with everyone I know), I am either driving my brother to school, hanging out and laughing with my bunny Xena (she’s hilarious), watching Netflix (and getting bored quickly due to my dislike towards starting at a screen for long periods of time), working at Michaels (I started working there last month), reading, annoying my family, or staring off into space (or at my bookshelves) until I fall asleep.

From Kurstin (@bookidy):

Q: What is your favorite type of apple?

A: My favorite type of apple used to be green apples even though I detest green apple flavored things. But, I quickly grew tired of them (I grow tired of food quite easily) and have moved on to red apples. My favorites are the sweet ones. Yum! I rarely eat them though since I have to be in a certain mood in order to do so.

Q:What’s your favorite vegetable?

A: I used to be the type of person that stayed far, far, far away from anything green that wasn’t money. I only recently have fallen in love with two types of vegetables that I actually crave every single day. I never thought I would say/speak such a sentence but it’s true. And those two vegetables that have written history in the story that is my life, are celery and asparagus. I love adding both of them to any dishes I eat that have meat in them. Oh, my goodness. Just thinking about them is making my mouth water. I had celery earlier today and ugh, it was so good! Let me know what’s your favorite vegetable!

Q: What type of toothpaste do you use?

A: Uhm, nothing in particular, just anything that is in our bathroom drawer lol.

From Dela (@dela_author):

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: My favorite food is anything and everything Mexican that has chicken (specifically, chicken breast) in it.  I can’t ever have enough chicken and that is most definitely the way to my heart.

From Jade (@metamorphicbooks):

Q: How many books do you normally read per month?

A: I tend to to make it a personal goal not to read less than 10 books per month. There was a month this year where I read less than that and I felt like horrendous poop about it. Book slumps are the worst things ever but they happen and the least we can do is put up with them. I think the best moth I’ve ever had was when I read around 35 books in one month. *Sigh* Oh, the good old days.

>>Questions from my Facebook page<<

From Martha:

Q: When did you start reading?

A: I had to ask my mom about this myself, since I don’t remember a particular time I started but her answer was ‘ever since you learned how to read’. She said that I would always be looking for my next read. So there you guys have it! She also told me that I used to read aloud a lot and if I saw that nobody was paying attention to me, I would keep raising my voice until someone did. I was a pretty weird kid (not in a good way) so I tend to not reminisce those times but this memory made me very happy for some reason.

Q: At what point did you decide to start your blog?

A: I decided to start my own blog on April 2015, to be exact! I’ve been doing this for a little over a year and it has been the best decision of my life. This community keeps on overwhelming me with its generous people that I will never, ever forget. I have to give a big shoutout to Lilliana Anderson for being the first author to ever ask for a review from me. She asked me if I could review one of her books after seeing that I had loved A Beautiful Struggle and without knowing it, played a tremendous part in my decision of becoming a reviewer.

Q: Why did you start your blog?

A: After accepting Lilliana’s request for a review, I decided to do some research on blogging websites so I could have all of my reviews in one place and I have yet to make it any more personal than that.

From Sandra:

Q: What book/series made you fall in love with reading?

A: I need to give you a little backstory. Books have been a part of my life ever since I could remember but we’ve always had an on and off relationship. I would always find myself in a library, be it in school or a public one. It was one of my favorite places to hang out since it was basically the only place my parents would let me go alone. But there was a point in my early high school years where I went half a year without picking up a book. (I have no idea how I managed to do that but I started to log all of my reads when I began high school, so you can trust my word on this.)  After a while of volunteering at my local -brand new at the time, two story- library, I saw the most beautiful book that had me immediately snatching it off the shelf and taking it home with me to devour. (At the time, I wasn’t in the mindset of checking if a book was part of a series so please excuse my behavior.) As I started reading it, there were hints that let me know there were previous books in the series but I still finished the book. I immediately went back to the library to check out the other ones in the series and stumbled upon another gorgeous book that I snatched up as well. This is what began my never ending schedule of devouring books immediately after another. There were two series that made me fall in love with reading all over again and made sure I wouldn’t go another half year without picking up another book. Those series were The House of Night Series by P.C. Cast and her daughter, Kristin Cast, and The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead. I grew out of the House of Night series before the it ended but I still love Vampire Academy even after the not-so-great films. Even though my opinion over one of them has changed, they all have a special place in my heart.  And this doesn’t mean that I don’t like P.C. or Kristin at all. I recently read and looooooved P.C.’s newest release, Moon Chosen, but I have yet to read anything else by Kristin, even though I am dying to!

And those are all the answers to the questions you guys had for me!

This was so much fun for me, so you bet I’ll be hosting another one soon!

A big thanks to those who asked me questions!

And to everyone else, thank you so much for reading and I hope I introduced you to new reads/people to follow!

They are all amazing!
